Text Box: 1. Area D Groundwater ROD – The ROD was finalized in April 2004 and is awaiting concurrence from the NJDEP.  USEPA signed the ROD in September 2004.
2. Site 23, Post Farm Landfill ROD – The ROD was finalized in August 2004 and is now awaiting regulatory agency acceptance.
3. Green Pond Brook/Bear Swamp Brook ROD – A

4. Site 34 Burning Ground ROD – A draft final version was completed in August 2004 and is now awaiting USEPA technical and management review.

Text Box: In the order listed.  Funds are available for both Area D and the Post Farm Landfill.  However, implementation of the remedial action at Area D is constrained by concerns about affecting the golf course during the playing season.  Work would need to be completed in the winter; startup for the construction could be late 2005 at the earliest.

In the past, the source of the water for the development has been in contention due to the close proximity of Picatinny, specifically the SBA. At one point, a consultant for the developer had proposed installation of a hydraulic barrier to prevent water from Picatinny  from entering the capture zone of 

Text Box: As you drive by Route 15 in the vicinity of the Southern Boundary Area (SBA) you’ll note that a new commercial building has been erected and additional site  work has been completed.  The new development is referred to as “Pondview Estates.”  A total of 1,050 apartment units are planned for the development.  A Rockaway Township 

Text Box: the proposed supply well for the development.  The developers eventually drilled another test well further from Picatinny.  Picatinny is now in the process of monitoring water levels in SBA monitoring wells to gather background data.  The status of the NJDEP water allocation permit is still uncertain.
